Warranty Certificate

The Fitch® Fuel Catalyst is covered by a warranty, provided it is sized correctly, and installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and returned due to a verified product defect in materials or workmanship. Product returns are accepted solely on the basis of product defects in materials or workmanship.

The Fitch Fuel Catalyst unit is maintenance‑free when installed downstream of all filtration devices. Limited cleaning may be required in commercial applications using heavy bunker fuels. The safest non-solvent option for a Fitch Fuel Catalyst is a mild detergent solution (like a neutral pH dish soap or similar parts-washing detergent) followed by a very thorough rinsing and drying or a light flushing using oil or kerosene can be used. 

The Fitch Fuel Catalyst applications are guaranteed to be free from defects in material and workmanship for the following:

  • Automotive – gasoline & light duty diesel

    • 250,000 miles (as defined by EPA in 40 CFR 85.117), or

    • 5,000 operating hours.

  • For commercial diesel grade FHD and HDG units:

    • Warranty covers 500,000 miles or

    • 10,000 operating hours from the date of installation.

  • For boilers and heating systems – fuel oil:

    • HO-UL series: 10-year warranty on single pass residential systems.

    • HO-UL and FHD-UL series for commercial applications:

      • 8 years on #2 oil.

      • 5 years on #4 and #6 oil.

  • For natural gas and LPG commercial furnaces/boilers/ovens:

    • Warranty of 20,000 working hours.

To validate and maintain warranty coverage, the authorized installer, distributor or end-user must provide complete installation records to APSI. 

 Authorized distributors or reselling networks independently provide their own performance warranties and guarantees directly with their customers and are responsible for all project management, including correct sizing, installation, and data collection.

 Manufacturer shall not be liable for damages, labor costs, or ancillary expenses resulting from selection, purchase, installation or data collection of an incorrect part number. Product warranty covers material and manufacturing defects only and does not extend to costs incurred by improper installation or misapplication by the distributor or end-user.

The manufacturer warrants that the proper installation of Fitch Fuel Catalyst product on any equipment will not cause the equipment on which it is installed to have any mechanical problems for the life of the catalyst from the date of installation subject to the equipment being mechanically sound.

OTHER THAN THE WARRANTIES HEREIN CONTAINED, THERE IS NO OTHER WARRANTY, WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED (INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, PERFORMANCE OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE) THAT SHALL EXIST IN CONNECTION WITH THE SALE OR USE OF ANY FITCH FUEL CATALYST PRODUCT.

 Manufacturer's warranty must be made during the applicable warranty period and the product claimed defective or non-conforming returned by Buyer. Contact your distributor or the manufacturer with notification of a defective device along with dated proof of purchase, from which the device was purchased so that the distributor or manufacturer may handle your warranty claim in an expeditious manner. The manufacturer will repair, or at its option, replace any defective or non-conforming product and return the repaired or replacement product without charge.

 SUCH REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT IS THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY (WHETHER UNDER THE THEORIES OF BREACH OF CONTRACT OR WARRANTY, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY) AVAILABLE FROM MANUFACTURER AND MANUFACTURER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING INCIDENTAL AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM ANY BREACH OF WARRANTY OF THIS CONTRACT.

Manufacturer's warranties shall not be enlarged, diminished or affected by, and no obligation or liability shall arise or grow out of Manufacturer's rendering of technical advice or in service in connection with an order or the goods furnished. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or exclusions of implied or deemed conditions or warranties, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
